To kill termites,
kill the nest

WhatsApp Alan a photo first, for free advice. Only once it’s confirmed as termites does the bait go in on the trail they use; then he comes back to top it up while the whole colony fades out.

Found termites

Found termites? Don’t spray yet

When people see termites or a mud trail, the first instinct is to grab a can of insecticide and spray. That only hits the few that came out to scout.

  1. Leave it aloneDon’t scrape off the mud tube or move the wood, so the termites don’t scatter to more places.
  2. Don’t spray insecticideSpray only reaches the few scouts; the whole colony is hiding in the walls and under the floor.
  3. Mark the spot, take photosMake a mark beside it and take one close-up and one wider photo that shows where in the house it is.
  4. WhatsApp AlanFirst confirm whether it’s termites and how far they’ve spread, then decide what to do. The advice is free.

Where did you find them?

Pick a spot to see what Alan would say; your WhatsApp message is written for you.

A termite mud tube climbing a timber door frame in an 18th-floor condominium

A mud line on the door frame

Termites climb from the ground up the door frame and build a mud tube on the surface of the wood. A frame that sounds hollow when you knock it is a warning too.

Don’t scrape off the mud tube. Take one close and one wide photo so we can tell which door it is.

Why bait

Bait works like a “lunch box”

To kill termites, you have to kill the nest. Bait doesn’t work overnight; it makes the whole colony fade out.

  1. 01Termites find it tasty
  2. 02After eating, they don’t die at once
  3. 03They carry the “meal” back to the nest
  4. 04The whole family eats; the nest fades out
Diagram: termites eat the bait in the box, carry it down the mud tube to the nest underground, and the whole colony fades out
  • SprayingFast, but they come back easilyIt hits only the few you can see; disturbed termites scatter, and one spot becomes two or three.
  • Termite baitSlow, but less likely to come backTermites carry the bait home one by one, so it reaches the whole nest.
  • More termites in the box? That’s a good signIt means they trust this food source and are taking the bait back to the nest. Don’t open or move the box now.

How long does it take?

Bait works slowly, and every home has different termites and a different spread. This is what customers wrote:

  • 服务很好 每次上门放药都会帮我检查清楚 经过2个月终于清干净了Very good service. Every visit to put down bait he checked everything for me. After 2 months it was finally clean.Steven Goh · Facebook recommendation
  • 服务很好,也很专业。不到2个月家里的白蚁就已经被消灭了。Very good service and very professional. In under 2 months the termites at home were gone.April Yong · Facebook recommendation

No termites yet? You can prevent them

Termites in a lawn are the hardest to keep out. An In Ground System buried in the garden lets the termites come into that area first, so they can be dealt with there.

Some customers sign up for regular inspections after a check, rather than waiting until termites appear.

About Alan

Hello, I’m Alan

Alan (Alan Yap) of Ableddin Solutions. On Facebook people call me “Alan 白蚁专家”, Alan the termite expert.

Why I do this work

  1. My family was against it at first

When I started in pest control, my family didn’t support me: the job means hunting pests, handling chemicals, even taking lives. I felt the same way, couldn’t put my heart into it, and thought about quitting.

  2. An elderly lady

She never treated me as a salesman or an outsider. Later I understood why: she was grateful that I had saved the house her late husband left her from termites. I still remember her thanks.

  3. A master at a Buddhist hall

Once, dealing with pests at a Buddhist hall, I asked the master whether this counted as killing. He smiled and said: when pests harm people’s health and lives, we should take responsibility and “invite” them to leave.

Since then I’ve gone from wanting to close a sale to wanting to help more people: explain clearly first, then offer the solution that fits best.

There is no best product, only the product and service that fit best.

— Alan

Last year I found a termite trail in my room. The boss came to check for free, found no termites, and explained I didn’t need bait yet or it would be a waste of money. In April this year I found a new trail and called him again. This time he found termites and explained very professionally how the bait is installed; when I didn’t understand something and messaged him, he answered patiently. In two months the termites in my house were completely gone. Anyone in Johor Bahru with termites can look for Alan: a fair price, very professional, honest and careful.

Thank you, boss, for answering so warmly. Your explanation was very clear. Great! He sent videos and voice messages showing my family and me how to tell whether there are termites, and explained clearly what a termite problem looks like. It put my mind at ease. Thank you for sharing. I hadn’t paid anything yet and you still shared termite information freely; a termite expert with a conscience, so he gets 5 stars from me.

Contacted them swiftly after spotting termites in my house. Alan came down immediately on the same day and did a site evaluation and it was determined there was termites and their nest. The treatment was done over a month with multiple sites visits and updates. Although we were not at home most of the time Alan provided video updates with explanation of the progress made. In the end the termite problem was resolved and Alan also gave advice on how to maintain my property termite free. Highly recommend them if you’re looking for pest control in Johor Bahru area!

FAQ

What people ask before they get in touch

Something else? WhatsApp Alan directly.

WhatsApp a question
I found termites. What do I do first?

Leave them alone: don’t spray insecticide, don’t scrape off the mud tube, don’t move the wood. Mark the spot, take one close and one wide photo, and WhatsApp Alan to confirm whether it’s termites and how far they’ve spread.

How do I know if it’s termites?

Just send a photo. If it isn’t termites, Alan will say so; ordinary ants, for example, can usually be handled with a little Ant Gel.

Why not just spray insecticide?

Spray only reaches the few scouts; the nest is still in the walls and under the floor. Disturbed termites scatter, one spot becomes two or three, and it gets harder to treat.

Why are there more and more termites in the bait box?

That’s a good sign: the termites trust this food source, are feeding steadily and carrying the bait back to the nest one by one. Don’t open or move the box during this time.

How long does it take, and how many visits?

Bait works slowly, depending on the termite species, the spread and the house. Alan comes back regularly to check and top up the bait and tells you the progress each time. Several customers wrote that it took about two months to clear.

How much does it cost?

Every home differs in termite species, spread and size of area, so WhatsApp Alan a photo first for free advice; once the situation is clear, you’re told the treatment plan and the price.

Which areas do you cover?

Johor Bahru, Skudai, Kangkar Skudai, Kulai and Senai; we’ve also been to Masai, Permas Jaya, Gelang Patah, Bukit Indah, Kota Tinggi and more. If you’re not sure, just WhatsApp and ask.

Do you do shops and factories?

Homes, shops and factories, and terraces, condominiums and timber houses too.

Can I book on a Sunday?

Yes, Sunday morning appointments are accepted.

Send Alan these
